Technology and SaaS
Software founders usually have one strength, product or sales, and a company that needs both, plus operations and finance. We provide the missing executives fractionally: Ali takes CMO and CTO seats himself, and his specialists cover sales systems, operations and finance alongside your CPA. You get a leadership bench before you can afford one.
How the work gets done today
- Growth is bought with cash, so acquisition cost and payback decide everything
- Churn silently cancels marketing, and most small teams do not measure it
- Technical founders under invest in sales, sales founders in product discipline
- Hiring executives too early burns cash, too late burns the founder
The moves we make
- Fill the CMO or CTO seat fractionally with Ali until a full time hire is justified
- Build the sales system: pipeline stages, follow up automation and a weekly revenue review
- Install a cadence and scorecard covering acquisition, activation, retention and cash
- Design the team structure and hiring sequence for the next twelve months
Seats usually missing
Depending on the founder, either a marketing leader who owns acquisition and positioning, or a technology leader who owns roadmap, delivery and security. Almost always a sales systems owner, an operations seat that runs the cadence, and a finance seat that tracks cash and payback alongside your CPA. Ali holds an MBA in Technology Management and takes CMO and CTO seats personally, and his team of more than thirty covers the rest by function. Seats are filled as the plan requires and released as you hire.
Getting the founder out
Start with the cadence: a weekly leadership meeting with a scorecard of acquisition, activation, retention and cash, run by an operations seat. Then the function the founder is weakest in, filled by a fractional executive who owns it fully rather than advising from the side. Then delegation inside the founder's own strength, through processes and a first hire. The founder keeps vision, key customers and the decisions only they can make, and gets a leadership team to argue with instead of a mirror.
What to outsource first
The function that is blocking revenue. For a technical founder that is usually marketing and sales systems. For a sales founder it is technology leadership and delivery discipline. Operations and finance follow once the company has a cadence to run them in. We work alongside your lawyer and registered advisers on anything to do with fundraising, equity and securities, and we never give investment advice. Our part is building the team that makes the numbers worth raising on, and keeping it affordable.
Questions from technology and SaaS owners
Can a fractional CTO manage our developers?
Yes. Ali sets scope, reviews delivery, runs the engineering cadence and is the escalation point. Developers from his team join when capacity is short. Everything stays in your repositories.
Do you work with pre revenue startups?
Our Startup Advisory session (60 minutes, $349) is the right start for pre revenue companies. Fractional seats and growth teams fit companies with proven demand.
How do you price a company still raising?
Fractional seats are $25K to $60K per month and advisory from $8K per month, outcome based. Growth Partner terms with equity are possible for companies with proven demand, documented by your lawyer.
